2005 - 2006 Cross Country Road Trip

How did we get here?

On our second date in April of 2003, Fritz told me that in January of 2004 he planned to hit the open road and travel the US. Jealous as all get out the only response I could muster was "no fair". As a consolation, Fritz told me that if we were still together I could go too and that was good enough for me. So, here we are, after one graduation, one wedding, a whole lot of saving, and help from family and friends, on the open road. At the end of April, we packed up all of our belongings (which we could not have done without Katey A- thank you!), crammed them in to Fritz's childhood bedroom (Travis we promise to come back and pick them up!), left our home in Austin, and hit the road. Thanks to Fritz and his friend Don, we have a deluxe F-250 with a camper shell, storage and queen size bed that serves as our bedroom, living room, kitchen etc. We dine on delicacies such as canned soup and oatmeal prepared on a gourmet portable gas grill, sleep in the back of our truck, and shower at campgrounds or RV parks, and we love it. Discovering all that America has to offer is the adventure of a lifetime and we are happy to be able to share it with you.

I would like to thank my parents for the continuing support. This dream might not have taken flight without their encouragement. Mom, thanks for all your work on the truck curtains and for stocking our "pantry" before we left Texas. - Fritz
